Sparkler Fun!

Sparklers can be a lot of fun but also a big pain (literally). I still remember picking up the wrong end of a “dead” sparkler. It didn’t make for a pleasant evening! What we do is to keep a bucket of water handy so that the girls can discard their used sparklers immediately without the risk of picking up or stepping on one that is still hot. We fill the bucket up high enough so that the entire sparkler is immersed in water.

More  Sparkler Fun

  • We always save a few sparklers to light up on the first night of school.

  • On a winter night, plant some sparklers in the snow. Light and voila! You have a pretty winter yard. (It’s fun for a winter birthday, too.)

  • For little ones that are scared to hold a sparkler, plant sparklers in the ground or bucket of sand (if it’s not too dry) before lighting them. Just make sure they don’t run through the yard until you have pulled them all out.
